There really is nothing about the installation of the DeeZee Invis-A-Rack Folding Ladder Rack, part # DZ951600 that would stop a determined thief. It would however take some effort for a thief to take the ladder rack without being noticed as they would have to use a wrench to remove the clamps that hold the rack rails in place.

It's hard to see in the photos, but the crossbars provided by the Rola # 59799 Haul-Your-Might ladder racks are what I'd call a dark gray or gunmetal color with a black rubber strip running down the center. The remainder of the ladder rack is black in color. Rola doesn't offer a ladder rack with crossbars that are entirely black, but we do offer some alternatives that are available in all black:

Of the ladder mounted bike racks we offer, the Surco # SP501BR model you referenced has the highest weight capacity at 75 lbs. Your combined bike weight is 77 lbs, so if you were to remove the seats from each bike, you'd probably get the load under the 75 lb weight capacity of the rack.
